Dinner Is Served Grandma's Curse Tiny Violin Conversation With The Brother

photos by Liz Ligouri

This year Dynasty Handbag is hosting the family holiday dinner that is sure to be a messy mash up of passive-aggression, fart jokes, personality meltdowners. Everyone has something to bring to the table, and when all become deathly ill after greedily scarfing up, all are suspect of bringing in the virus. But who is the motherfucker who would infect everyone? It must be DH...she is the HOST after all. Find out when a family secret is revealed and an antidote must be found...or else! Using live performance and 4 on-stage video screen projections of family members, all performed by Ms Handbag, BSMF is a tour de farce of comedic acting skills as well as a film editors nightmare.

VERTititGO
2010
53 min

Dynasty Handbag returns to the stage with sluethful vengeance as “Detective Bags" who is on the search for a missing woman, or is it every woman...or could she is the very woman she is looking for? Inverting film noir tropes and Hitchockian formula, Verititgo stars Dynasty Handbag as the lady dick without a clue, and meets herself in all the characters along the way...a demented femme fatale, a bitter fortune teller, an astronaut/waitress, a professional boxer, a disillusioned flower and a wise but stupid bear. Vertititgo is a tale about the way we look for things and the things that are worth looking for and how the two things rarely meet.

Escape From The Family Home

2009
56 min
DH...trying to sleep in the family house but there is anxiety so great it wakes Dynasty Handbag. She hears the patriarch coming up the driveway, his tires crunching the gravel. There is no where to hide, every room is a disaster. To whence should she escape? Through the upstairs! To the neighbor, to the closet, to poetry, to fame, to the city, the forest, where shall she gain back her power? Through violence, make-believe, cigarettes, fantasy....where!!!!??? All of the above.

Bags

2008

This is the story of DH hopping through an emotional minefield of 5 bags on the floor all talking, wanting, needing, unrelenting. The brown paper one is used, sexy, persuasive and oh so tiring after a long bout of fisting. The black one is so demanding, yet keeps changing it's mind and speaks deeply and rudely. The whispy whilte wants only to watch, watch as you dance for her... says dance for me! The blue one has a rotten cockney accent and becomes suicidal at the thought of abandonment. These bags seem so familiar. DH blindly goes from bag to bag, looking for that special something. This clip shows the white bag playing a ruthless choreographer - eventually turning her into Mick Jagger with a dagger, which is what is seen in this clip. to view full performance click HERE.

Deep Feelings
2007
30 min

Dynasty Handbag revisits some icky childhood sexual adventures and it's influence on aduit relationships and internalized homophobia. A Dr. Phillis keeps inturrupting her process with criticism and bad advice. Along the journey she rapes her house cat, meets an octopus with a knife, is tempted into a warm cave by a lion who makes her vaccuum, a sweet and unintelligable sea horse, and moleststs a teen slut passed out on a picnic table, which is what is seen in this clip.

Baby

2006
60 min

Dynasty Handbag gives birth to an unwanted unruly baby represented by a plastic bag with a red light inside that flashes when it talks. The baby will not let Dynasty Handbag work, won't eat what Dynasty Handbag feeds it, has nightmares that will not let her rest, and is critical of her creative process. After a spastic brawl, the baby finally leaves on its own accord. Dynasty Handbag is free, yet still hears the echo of the baby's voice in the midst of trying desperately to live a normal life, ummm normal.
